Kristin Proctor is a certified ISR Master Instructor located in Lubbock, TX. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2002 with a degree in Agricultural Communications. She has been married to her husband, Brad, for over 20 years and together they have have 3 crazy kiddos... Lane, Brody, and Elyse.
From Kristin - "The first time I learned about ISR was in 2007 when I saw the Miles video in an email I received from a friend. In this video, I saw a baby who fell into the water was able to roll to his back and float until someone came to get him. With tears in my eyes, I showed this video to Brad and we agreed right then and there that one day, when we had kids, we would do that - ISR. Our first child, Lane, was born in June 2009 and one week before his first birthday we bought a home that had a pool. All the more reason that he had to have the skills he would need to save his life! Then two years later, just before our middle child turned one, Brody learned those same life saving skills his big brother had been taught by ISR."
"After seeing my boys learn these incredible aquatic survival skills, I knew that I wanted to be an Instructor one day. We moved back to Lubbock in May of 2013 and welcomed our daughter one month later, in June. After she was born it really set in that I would have to travel to the nearest ISR Instructor, who at the time was in was in Fort Worth, in order to have Elyse attend ISR classes. I knew that if anything ever happened to Elyse and I had not armed her with the same skills that my boys have, I could never forgive myself. So instead of heading to Fort Worth for Elyse’s lessons, I headed to Dallas to finalize my training and become a Certified ISR Instructor!”
"I was excited and honored to bring this program to West Texas! In 2014, there was nothing like this between Fort Worth and Arizona! Now we have over 20 Instructors in that same area - most of which I have had the pleasure to train! In 2019 I became one of about 40 ISR Master Instructors in the world. This means that Lubbock now plays a huge role in helping children from all over the world have access to these life saving lessons!"
After years of being a full-time nanny to 3 ISR kids and earning her BS degree from Texas Tech University in Human Development & Family Studies, Tye joined the ISR Lubbock team.
Tye has been a Certified ISR Instructor for 5 years. She grew up in Post, TX but now makes Lubbock her home along with her boyfriend, Jacob (shout out to Triton Pool Co). Their first child, Harlea, was born in February and Tye is looking forward to teaching her these incredible skills just as soon as Harlea is old enough!
Tori has been working with young children in the Lubbock are for almost 30 years! She has owned and operated multiple Lubbock childcare centers and an on site after school program for the Lubbock-Cooper school district. Tori's love for children has continued as a former CASA advocate and foster and adoptive Mama.
Tori and her Husband, Michael, have 9 children, an amazing daughter in love and two precious grandbabies that are her entire world.
In 2016 Tori inquired about starting her two youngest daughters, who were both 3 years old at the time, in ISR lessons. As life does, it got busy and ISR lessons fell to the wayside that summer - that turned into the biggest oversight of her life. On Mother's day 2017, while at a family gathering at a relatives home, her then 4 year old daughter climbed into the pool unnoticed. Tori found her daughter only minutes later however after 12 hours and so many medical efforts, Shaelynn went to be with Jesus.
Since Shaelynn's drowning, Tori has advocated for water safety in and around the Lubbock area in various ways. Tori becoming a Certified ISR Instructor is not only an act of love for children but also a mission in teaching life saving skills so that not one more child drowns.
Julia a highly experienced swimmer and that turned to ISR after watching so many children learn these life saving skills at the Aquatic Center in Denver, CO that she managed. Julia came to Lubbock to train to become on ISR Instructor in 2019 and has been back several seasons over the years.
Julia loves Lubbock and all of its people with their west Texas charm! She is dedicated to helping our students achieve their goals whether it be in ISR lessons or stroke lessons. Julia is passionate about swimming and loves sharing vast knowledge and expertise with others.
After giving up on finding swimming lessons that would actually work for her two young daughters, she came across ISR. Soon she found herself amazed at the progress of her girls and the confidence they developed with their life saving skills.
Before she knew it, she had been recruited to help with all behind the scenes projects. 3 years later and Hallie has become our go to girl for all things that need solutions. We are so lucky to have her!
